Visitor Information

While the grounds of the Grosse Point Lighthouse National Landmark are open to the public free of charge year-round, tours of the lighthouse are held seasonally due to weather conditions. Specially arranged group tours of the lighthouse during the week can be made from May into October. The District also conducts tours of the lighthouse June through September, on Saturdays and Sundays at 2 - 3 - 4 P.M. The facility is closed Independence Day and Labor Day holiday weekends. As part of the tour, visitors get a chance to climb the 141-steps to the top of the light tower. For reasons of safety, by order of the Evanston Fire Marshall, there is a twelve-person limit on each tour and children under eight years of age are not permitted. Visitors are admitted on a first come basis. Access to the light tower is sometimes discontinued during extreme weather conditions.

Please phone 847-328-6961 for up-to-date information before your visit.

Admission: $6 for adults and $3 for children aged 8 to 12.

Please note: There are no facilities for weddings or other social events on the grounds or in buildings at Grosse Point Lighthouse National Landmark.
